Is it from God?
How to test the spirit behind a group or organization that you’re affiliated with:
1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
What drew you to this organization? That was a scheme of the enemy. What is culture? Was it sisterhood or brotherhood? Was it career and network related? That’s idolatry.
You can’t serve two masters.
Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Joshua 24:15 - And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Ask the Lord to show you what you did during your time in this organization or pledging. Many don’t remember all of the details but ask the Most High to bring to remembrance whatever He wants you to remember.
There’s many characteristics that these organizations share. What does the Most High say about these characteristics?
Secrecy
Jeremiah 23:24: Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
Mark 4:22: For nothing is hidden, except to be revealed; nor has anything been secret, but that it would come to light.
Did this organization claim to be founded on Christian principles? Does it contradict itself.
Matthew 15:8-9: These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV - Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Matthew 7:16-23 KJV
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Idolatry
Exodus 20:3-6: You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image — any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your GOD, am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Exodus 34:14: For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous GOD.
Isaiah 42:8: I am the Lord, that is My name, and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.
I Corinthians 10:14: Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Matthew 22:37-38: Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.
John 8:12: Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am The Light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have The Light of life.
Remember it says…
Matthew 6:24: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.
Covenant
What is a covenant? A covenant is “an agreement or promise, usually formal, between two or more people or groups to do or not do something specified” according to Dictionary.com. Did you enter into any covenants?
Matthew 5:34-37: But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is GOD’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Leviticus 5:1: If a person sins in hearing the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter—if he does not tell it, he bears guilt.
Matthew 12:36-37: I tell you, on the day of Judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Exodus 23:32: Do not make a covenant with them or their gods.
Romans 6:16: Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
Jeremiah 10:1-2 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Who did you yoke yourself with by being in these organizations?
1 Corinthians 15:33-34
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
2 Corinthians 6:14-17 KJV
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Come out from among them
Exodus 20:3-5
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Romans 2:11-16
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Ask the Most High for wisdom
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of GOD, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Proverbs 2:6
For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Job 28:28
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Just like with the angels who delivered Lot and his family from the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, when you come out from among them don’t look back.
Genesis 19:5,16-17,26
5 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Matthew 12:43-45
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
What sin did you participate in as part of this organization?
Was it having another god before the Most High?
Was it worshipping graven images? Idolatry?
Was it taking the name of the Most High in vain?
Was it spending the Sabbath day on activities for your organization?
Was it not honoring your mother or father?
Was it killing?
Was it committing adultery?
Was it stealing?
Was it bearing false witness against your neighbor?
Was it coveting anything that was your neighbors?
Most likely you committed at least one or more of these commandments, the ten commandments found in Exodus 20:1-17.
Matthew 5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
The ten commandments hang on this, Jesus says:
Matthew 22:36-40
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John 5:14
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
